オンライン英会話をただ受講していれば伸びると思っていませんか？
こう考えている人は気持ちを入れ替えたほうがいいかもしれません。
受講いてもなかなか伸びないと悩んでいる人は、受講以外何もしていないのかもしれません。
今回は、私がいつも行なっているDMM英会話での予習・レッスン・復習の具体的な活用法を、実際の事例とともに紹介します。

予習編
まずは予習です。予習で重要なことは下記の２つです。
・わからない単語・文章を調べておく
・あらかじめ設問の回答を作っておき、音読する
それぞれ解説します。
わからない単語・文章を調べておく
これは言葉の通りです。わからないことは調べてから臨みましょう。
例えば下記のような文章があります。
”and have good health and education systems.”
ここのeducation systemsがわからないんだとすれば、事前に調べておきましょう。
education systems：教育制度
このように、事前に調べノートなどにメモしておくことをおすすめします。
あらかじめ設問の回答を作っておき、音読する
このデイリーニュースには、Exercise 3にQuestions(質問)、Exercise 4にDiscussion(議論)のパートがあります。
それぞれで回答を作っておくと効率が上がります。
今回私が作成した準備回答を全て記載しています。
回答はもちろん一例ですが、参考にしてみてください。
Exercise 3：Questions(質問)
1. What did people consider to be the third best country in the world?
(回答)
It’s Norway.
2. How many days off work can new parents in Sweden share?
(回答)
They can take 480 days off work.
3.Which country has the best gender equality score?
(回答)
It’s Sweden.
Exercise 4：Discussion(議論)
1.What are your thoughts on the results of the 2020 Best Countries survey?
(回答)
It was surprised that Nordic countries occupied in top three countries, and they can take many days off work and earn some money during that.
My company has similar system but nobody uses it, because they think they bother coworkers if you use it.
2. Do you find it surprising that people believe Switzerland is the best country in the world? Why? Why not?
(回答)
I’m not surprised because I heard or read that almost all Nordic countries are rich. also I heard happiness level of Nordic countries is really high, I believe this also related to this.
3.Do you have kids? If so, how much time off work did you get when you became a parent? If not, do many of your friends have kids?
(回答)
Yes I have a kid. It’s not common that we take time off work in Japan, so when I had a baby, I had been taking only two weeks off.
4.In your opinion, what is the most difficult thing about raising children? Why do you think so?
(回答)
My baby is 2 months old, so most difficult thing to me right now is that I have to change diaper and give the baby a bath. However It’s more difficult to raise the baby for my wife, because she has to do breast feeding every 2 hours. It means she has to wake up every 2 hours at night.
Would you rather live in Canada, Norway, Sweden, or Denmark? Why?
(回答)
I’d rather like in Canada, because it sounds like Canada is most safest in these three country. It’s most important to raise the baby. In addition to that, national language in Canada is English. I speak English a little, so it’s easy to understand what they speak.
作成した回答を音読する
次に作成した設問の回答を音読しておきましょう。
目安は10回程度でいいと思います。音読しないと、実際に英会話した時に出てきません。
私にとってオンライン英会話は、あくまでアウトプットを練習する場所です。
始めは音読していても英会話中はフレーズが出てきません。
しかし徐々に実力がついていき、英会話でフレーズが出てくるようになり、自分の英語力が伸びていることを実感できるはずです。
受講編
次に受講時の注意点について紹介します。
私のおすすめは、自己紹介を省き、予習で作った文章を添削してもらうことです。

復習編
最後に復習です。
復習では添削してもらった文章を、何度も音読し口になじませましょう。
私は英語学習初期は、暗記するぐらい音読を実施していました。
一番最初に使った参考書の音読回数は、1つの文に対し100回以上していました。
これぐらい音読は大切です。ぜひ口に馴染むまで音読してみてください。
